Muamba spent the night in intensive care at the heart attack centre of the London Chest Hospital after collapsing during Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final clash at Tottenham.

A new statement on the health of the player is expected on Sunday, but speaking at midnight on Saturday as he left the hospital, Coyle said his midfielder is in a serious condition.

“Fabrice is critically ill. The next 24 hours are going to be absolutely crucial,” Coyle told Skysports.

“We’ve obviously been inundated with people wishing him well and we hope that if everybody can pray strongly tonight that Fabrice is able to recover. - http://www.setanta.com

“It’s very serious.

“There’s not getting away from that.

“He’s critically ill and God willing he makes it through.”
