Meanwhile, Hope Akpan should be fit for Crawley. Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is hopeful that Sunday’s derby clash with north London rivals Tottenham can help the Gunners get back on track after a difficult month on the field.

Arsene Wenger’s side suffered a 4-0 Champions League first leg defeat last week against AC Milan, before crashing out of the FA Cup to Sunderland, meaning Arsenal are once again likely to go without silverware this season.

The Frenchman has returned to the New York Red Bulls since his short loan spell at the club, but is hoping that a positive result over Spurs at the Emirates can see his former side get past their recent dip in form.

Henry told the club’s official website: “I will be in Arizona for a pre-season camp and for sure I won’t be watching it with [Red Bulls team-mate] Teemu Tainio because he’s a Tottenham fan!

“For years we have been used to being on top of Tottenham, by a mile, and now it is the opposite. But this is the derby, which you don’t want to lose, and we need those three points massively.

“Hopefully it will be the derby that can spark the players, the fans, everybody at Arsenal Football Club. We’ll see.

“The league is going to be very difficult but the top four is in Arsenal’s hands. They have the squad, there is a long way to go, they have to play Chelsea at home, Tottenham at home, Newcastle at home, Man City at home. It’s not impossible.” – http://www.goal.com/
